What We Love:

The lighter feel of the traditional blazer becomes apparent in the rolled up and shortened sleeves. They are cut shorter than your regular sleeve and then loosely rolled up. The extra soft and slinky sweater hangs just below the belt and exposes itself just right under the sleeve. The cool thing is you can swap the light sweater for a collared shirt and add these English Pound Cross Hand Painted Cufflinks:

What We Love:

The slightly “shorter” shorts to show off the top of the calf muscle, along with the subtle aqua marine color. Let’s be honest, it’s not quite green like Munce says, but he knows what he’s talking about. Coupled with a white belt, the loose, relaxed fitted collared shirt peaks out of a stunning red mauve colored blazer. The blazer is one of those perfect spring/summer jackets, with a color that will complement everything (or close to everything at least. What We Love:

Again with the perfectly relaxed, yet tailored blazer in an off-white/egg shell shade, coupled with a light blue collared shirt (only buttoned in the middle, mind you). The loose fitting, shorter 30s style shorts give a considerable nod to Fitzgerald’s Great Gatsby and Long Island Ice Teas on, well…Long Island. Fashion Week Favorites

 

 

 

Fashion Week returns with a deep (much-needed!) breath of fresh air for the upcoming spring 2013 season. Most of the lines feature series of texturized prepped-out spring looks, never-before-seen sweaters, a definable nod to pastel colors, and laid back 90s look with light fabrics. As we always seem to, (no we have no commercial/capital ties with this company, we promise! :), we love Michael Bastian’s spring collection. His stuff is always so fresh. It’s the dreaded-of-all words: wear-able—plus it’s crisp, original, and sexily subtle.

The Vibe for Spring 2013
It’s boogie nights this season at Michael Bastian, as the designer’s American alpha males are walking with some extra swagger in their step. It’s all thanks to a louche collection of menswear that’s equal parts sporty and relaxed, but always effortlessly cool. Bastian’s signature, classic menswear pieces made fresh, still anchors the lineup, seen in versatile sport coats and clever cut-off shorts, but the designer experiments even more in this outing, like crafting a deep V-neck sweater front in the style of a kimono robe. Never one to shy away from color, this season Bastian softened his hues, opting for a dusty palette that sees neutral grays and tans paired with pistachio and lilac. It’s a collection made for the type guy who owns any room he walks into—and, more importantly, knows it.

Be attentive. That means open the door for her, tie her shoes when they come undone, notice when her wine glass needs a refill, rub her back after a long day. Be attentive to her everyday needs, it doesn’t have to be grand gestures and affirmations of devotion.

Tips for how to survive your first year of college

1. Know that your roommate will be weird/eccentric/unusual. And this is the time to embrace it! College is about learning that not everyone is like you and embracing all the differences the world has to offer. Let him/her teach you something new about the world and make sure you’re open to those new discoveries.

2. College is not the place to be cocky or arrogant.
