How To Tell if She’s Into You

How To Tell if She’s Into You

When you’re talking, does she have a slightly dreamy look in her eyes? Notice the eyes first and foremost. All women, including men, tend to have a dreamy sparkle in their eyes when they encounter someone they are into. It’s just that simple–their eyes light up when they see the person. This can also happen when two people first meet–hence “love at first sight.”

Does she smile a lot when you two talk? A woman’s natural instinct is to smile more in the presence of a suitor and it says a lot if she seems happier when she’s with you. Laughing is also a good thing too, obviously.

Does she seem a little fidgety/gulp a little in between words? Women, no matter how confident they may be, tend to gesture and fidget more in the presence of someone they like–basically they get more nervous around someone they are attracted to. This also includes sweating. Oh yes, the dreaded perspiration…but it’s true–when a woman seems little flustered, wet at the hair temple, and swallows in between pauses, chances are she’s either having an anxiety attack or she’s into you.

Does she initiate meetings or outings? Because of the shifting of the times, it’s not always the men who initiate meetings anymore. If she invites you to parties, out to lunch, coffee, or an after-work cocktail, chances are, it’s not just the caffeine or whiskey she’s craving.

Does she talk about other men a lot in your presence? Then she’s just not that into you. Women who talk about other men in front of a potential suitor aren’t gaga or head over heels. Unless she’s trying to make you jealous or she’s insecure about herself, chances are, she’s just…not into you.

Street Style: March 18th

Sunday, March 18th, 2012

Like every other season, it’s about the little details. Think of a wine tasting…one doesn’t go in and down each and every glass, right? Savor style too. There are more options for men then ever in the realm of fashion and shoes are not to be understated. To go with the rolled pant look, these featured kicks bring a plain tee and jeans to a whole different level. GQ Magazine recently featured these in their March issue and we’d like to bring them to you in case you missed it.

Oh what to say about these! Traditional loafers with a kick (no pun intended…well maybe) transitioned into spring with no socks or at least a no-sock look. The bags in this wonderful photograph also point at the importance of the details in accessories–a woodland inspired plaid bag, a canvas messenger, and again, the rolled jeans. And what about toting your cufflinks? Our brand new Mini Travel box will do the job for under $50.

And don’t forget/be afraid to sprinkle a little white in the mix!

Wow, so this photo may not be the largest/best quality, but the brown shoes with the cropped blue pants are worth taking a look (not to mention his model “friend”). Because black and brown are not friends normally in the fashion world, or at least the high end runway world, this guy pulls off the blue to brown beautifully. Try it.

RED pops of colors! Need we say more? The two look ultra stylish at a cafe, reminiscent of 50s Chicago, mixed with avant-garde Paris, and a little Bronx action in the hat choices.

4 Things You MUST Do This Spring

Tuesday, March 13th, 2012

Things to DO now that Spring is finally here.

Four things to brighten your spring, enliven your cultural step, and add a little fashion to your fabric.

Tateossian Animal Gecko Cufflinks

Take this little Animal Gecko Cufflink as inspiration–make sure to get out in nature at least once a week. This can be a simple stroll in the park, bird watching, short hikes, nature trails, or spending time in your backyard or fire escape lounging. If it’s a fire escape, though, please, watch out for the gaps. Vitamin D is something most Americans are lacking and it’s been linked to many physical and emotional ailments (specifically depression) so make sure you get your daily allotted 15 minutes of sun exposure. If this is impossible, take a daily vitamin. Take the kids to the zoo, see the animals, take a short drive over to the beach or lake….enjoy what mother Nature has to offer.

Tateossian Turtle Cufflinks

Take these Tateossian Turtle Cufflinks little with you for good luck, a bright spring color, and a whimsical reminder of the simpler things in life.

Take a road trip…preferably Jack Kerouac style, but we can’t all hitchhike our way West (or East). This means, letting it all go, packing ONE bag, filling up the tank, and just going. Stop at diners, visit local monuments, spend the night at camp grounds (preferably with showers). This Freeway Green Tateossian Cufflink reminds us of the importance of the open road, the vivid colors of nature, and the sleek austerity of the speeding, moving vehicle. Tateossian designed this cufflink with exactly that in mind.

And while you’re doing all this nature walking and bi-coastal traveling, make sure you bring a compass. Mapquest isn’t accessible everywhere and you may find yourself without wifi or a printer handy. (That’s the point, right?) if you really want to go old school, and have trouble navigating by the stars alone, try this functional Tateossian Compass Cufflink.

Visit a museum. If you are blessed enough to live in a Metropolis, take heed of all the art events taking place around your city. In NYC for example, there is an amazing Stein Collection on exhibit until June 3rd, 2012, featuring some never-before-seen-together Matisse, Picasso, Renoir, and others’ paintings. The collection is one of a kind and a must see. Similarly, at the 42nd Street Library there’s a famous Shelley Exhibit, honoring the life of the rogue/poet/lover/revolutionary Percy Shelley. Whatever it is…go to a museum this spring, preferably on a rainy day, and take in the beauty of Modern Art and public exhibits (normally free!)

Secondly create something yourself. If you’re not an artist, or have absolutely no flair for artistic creation, think of your wardrobe as assembling a masterpiece–carefully select everything “beautiful” from your socks to your cuffs. You will then be a walking Renoir, but since he rarely painted men, you probably won’t have all the curves.

Rose Gold for Spring 2012

Saturday, March 10th, 2012

The hottest accessory that we are seeing for Spring is anything in Rose Gold. Yup, that’s right, from Alexander Wang’s hardware to Asics GT-II Rose gold kicks, it is positively THE color of the season.

What do the editors of GQ says about this spring trend?  “Mix a little copper into gold and you get its reddish alter ego. Mix a little of that rose gold into your look and you get a sharp, subtle way to break from the precious-metal pack.

As the name implies, rose gold can veer into Dame Judi Dench territory if you’re not careful, so avoid pinker shades and find pieces with an edge—dark-tinted aviators, punked-out chains, and watches with black faces. Shine on if you can spring for the solid-rose-gold Rolex, but remember: If you can’t tell something’s plated, neither can anyone else.”

How can you join in on the fun?

And with all your bling-ed out accessories, why not buy something for the lady too? She’ll adore (we promise) anything from Alexander Wang’s spring collection, completely studded out in rose and brass hardware. It’ll set you back around $1,000 but she’ll be the judge of whether it’s worth it…

And also for your expensive tastes buds to be quenched this season, London based company Tateossian was recently featured in the NY Times. So you’ll be buying “Alexander Wang” quality, if not better, jewelry for a 1/3 of the price. Want a sneak peak of the article? “On a global basis we’re known as a cufflink brand, but in the past year our sales have shifted in a way that we’re selling, now, more bracelets than we are selling cufflinks” online and in Tateossian’s own stores, said Robert Tateossian, the company’s chief executive.

Featured Designer of the Week: Canali

Friday, March 2nd, 2012

While browsing the international runway shows for Fall 2012 fashion week, we came across an interesting, diverse show that propelled us to look. Honestly, we weren’t too familiar with this line of clothing, this particular designer, but we are pleasantly surprised and want to share with you our findings.

The shimmering fabrics used, most likely a form of velvet, would look great with any Gunmetal Cufflink, like this one:

About the Canali Brand: “In 1934, the brothers Giovanni and Giacomo Canali founded a tailoring workshop dedicated to the manufacture of high quality clothing. In the 1950s, with the contributions of the family’s second generation, sales increased. As the firm specialized in fine menswear, its presence began to influence the Italian market. By the mid 1970s, the firm had opened its doors to foreign buyers. Exports consumed 50 percent of the entire Canali production in 1980.”

The thing about this line is the ability to switch up the pieces with others–the tops will go with different bottoms, staple suit jackets that can be paired with jeans, khakis in the spring, and trousers, and a striking, velvety/corduroy pant that has a shimmering gold color we love.

Touches of green seem to be a staple for this Italian company. Accessorize with a pair of light green cufflinks that won’t overpower the look or bring too much attention to your sleeve. Your accessories should complement your overall look, not steal the show. Tateossian’s line of high-end sterling silver cufflinks is known for giving you that elegance, without the excessive bling.

And with all these dark, grey colors that infiltrate the runway for this upcoming fall 2012 season, adding dashes of white to your cuffs will brighten the entire suit, like these Tateossian Hexagonal White Cufflinks. Touches of white in the top front pocket, under shirts, cufflinks, hemlines, and interwoven fabric in accessories like scarves will do the trick.
