Ways to Keep Warm: Style Report

1. Beards

Number one way to keep warm? A little facial hair action! The trick is to keep it trimmed and relatively “neat,” which will assure you can get away with it at work. Facial hair adds character to a man’s face and diminishes that “boy next door” look. And regardless of the fact that it bothers your lady friend’s face (or…), trust us, she loves it too. 2. Mouton Collar Jackets

Fur is fur is fur is….always a hot topic. Regardless of those extremists at PETA, a classic mutton collar is a great essential to keep you warm in the winter. It’s not that it just looks good, but it’s main purpose it to maintain body temperature. Don’t believe us? 3. Top Coats

Ah, the dapper man strikes again! Nothing like a classic top coat to go over your suit, sweater, or even tee shirt. It will transform any simple outfit into an elegant look. Want to grocery shop in your pjs? Throw on your top coat and you’ll be good to go…a closet must-have.

Going hiking in Canada? You’ll need the extra warmth up there, especially visiting Niagra Falls. Before you make your trip to the North Country, get a hand-painted, rustic pair of Canadian Coin Cufflinks:

4. Sherpa-Lined Denim Jackets

Fall 2011 Trend Report: Numero Uno

 

 

Skimming through the pages in various magazines, catching the eye of style gurus on the subway, stopping to idly stare at illuminated shopping windows…all part of our job in the fashion industry. Although it seems that we simply recycle looks, adding a extra few modern touches, we are really revolutionizing fashion daily. Anything and everything you put on your back is a statement, whether you want it to be or not. A statement about who you are, where you come from, what’s important to you…What are you telling the world?

Style #1: 70s Swank

GQ magazine recently featured actor, and Jennifer Anniston’s beau, Justin Theroux in an array of vintage inspired trends. It’s a new, gritty spin on a seemingly over-worked genre of clothing:

Steve Jobs and Cufflinks

Steve Jobs…need we say more? Actually we will. Jobs has literally changed the way we view and experience the world. This is no easy feat, in case you’re trying to do it yourself, I’m sure you already know. In the late 1970s, Jobs help design and develop one of the first commercially successful lines of personal computers, the Apple Series. Think Jobs’ life didn’t effect you that much? Read on.

Just imagine your life right now, without ever owning an Ipod, or a MacBook, or even without ever digitizing your music? We’d still be slinging our DiskMan’s around the street, toting our scratched up CDs, and making mix tapes for our significant others. For you younger one’s, a Diskman is simply a portable CD player. Remember those? (If not, DY a favor and click the words “CD Player”) Now we can transfer music to each other through the internet, press a button and open up thousands of songs, which we can listen to in privacy, in public, anywhere (except on the initial ascent on the airplane…) Most of us even learn the most vital news on our Apple devices. Even Jobs’ death itself, most of the industrialized world learned of it through and on an Apple device. Amazing.

Ipod Cufflinks

The above quote really makes one think–are YOU going to bed thinking you’ve done something wonderful? If not, change it. We can. Jobs’ resignation from Apple was a global shock and the interesting thing is, he did it right before his death. That means he was working, doing what he loved, right up to the last minute of his professional existence. And to bow out gracefully while the company is at an all-time high…that is, to put it mildly, reverent class.
